Cirith Ungol

Me and Melissa took my daughter Zelly to Disneyland for her 12th birthday. The last time I went was about 21 years ago with my Aunt and my Grandma and my two cousins. I remember having to get a hair cut before going at my aunt's request. I was reluctant , but I gave in. I got one of those hair do's that looks like an old style football helmut. It went nice with my corduroy
short shorts and a Scorpions shirt. For some reason, the one thing that sticks in my head is having to take a shower with my younger cousin and then peeing on him while we were in there. Right when I pissed, he let out this high pitched scream and then we started laughing. We talked a lot about Lake Titicaca too on the way there. I miss that guy. We used to always crack ourselves up. .................................On this trip, there was a day where I kept seeing a guy walking around with a Cirith Ungol shirt on. Everytime I saw him I would get that "metal" feeling( the one where you hold out our hand of fire and make a scary face and let out a demonic hiss). You see, Cirith Ungol were a metal band from southern California in the early 80's. They had a fantasy/doom/heavy metal with screeching vocals kind of sound. They were one of the first underground metal bands that I had ever heard. I used to tune in to this high school station called KYDS (they are still broadcasting today). They played all the classic stuff like Mercyful Fate, Exodus, Trouble, Venom, Slayer, Motorhead etc. I taped a show from there that had the song "Finger of Scorn" on it. That song has always stuck with me. It was one of those epic sounding songs........fantasy metal geek bliss....... Well, we ended up riding that ride where you sit in a giant innertube and go down some rapids. Who did I sit next to? Why the Cirith Ungol shirt wearin' guy of course. I sat down right next to him. Him and his girl were wearing these disposable raincoat things. I didn't bring up his shirt or anything. I clammed up and then I got soaked. That kind of thing happens from time to time. So this post goes out to that Cirith Ungol wearin' shirt guy for keeping it alive. Cool shirt, man

Cirith Ungol - Finger of Scorn

Oh yeah, I almost forgot, me and Zelly had a couple of celebrity sitings. We saw George Lucas' cousin. He was everywhere we were, even at the hotel. We were polite and gave him his space. As we were walking out of that California Adventure Land place, The younger brother of Weird Al walked right by us. Yep

Happy Birthday Kiddo!

Sounds like fun times. Do you have anything by Conspiricy? I've never heard them, but I'm always down to hear hidden treasures from the past.
